Guy left a message saying I was used as a reference and please call 877-695-0611 back. Guys name was Todd Fowler (I'm sure its a fake name). I called back and they immediately asked for my SSN (whcih I didn't give them, duh). Told me my wife owed $18K in student loan which was going into collections. My wife has never taken out a student loan. I told him I would have her call. After 20 minutes on the phone with them she told them she would have her lawyer get the whole thing straightened out with them at which point they told her "we think we have the wrong person" and hung up.
No message, but a Collection Agency who thinks I am the person they are looking for continues to call regarding a student loan & according to the messages on this post it probably is a collection agency. I'm not the person they are looking for but they for some reason refuse to accept that reality. They must be really stupid because if they weren't they wouldn't keep calling and getting the same answer. Insane, perhaps. Apparantely being on the "do not call" list is in name only.
They called me an said they were looking for XXX (not me or my husband). When I said I didn't know that person/name, they gave me an address, which they said was my neighboor's (about 4 houses up my street). I said that I didn't know that person, but they still wanted me to "get a message to them." I politely again said that I didn't know that neighboor and that unless this was an emergency, I would not get involved. I then hung up. Couldn't believe it.
