That is exactly what happened to me too! He called and sounded almost like a voice being fed through a machine. He told me with all my credit cards I owed $5000. I only have one card and an $800 limit. I told this guy that and he hung up... whats up with that?
Have gotten two calls from them today . The first hung up as soon as I said we had no credit card debt. The second hung up when I said my husband wasn't home. Will file a report with the FTC--we are on the do not call list.
I got a call from this company and a guy with an Indian accent. He told me I had about $8000 in debt, I told him I didn't want any more credit and thanks and hung up. He tried calling back 3 times, I let the answering machine answer. I'm on the "Do Not Call" list and don't appreciate having to deal with idiots like this. Unfortunately, I'll bet he's successful with some folks getting credit information!
Just got a call from the same guy it sounds like- According to him i have over $5000 in debt. I told him that was my business and not his. He then started off with the vulgar language. I figure it was his nickel - how can people fall for this stuff?
I dialed *57 and the call is being traced. Second call today. How do they get your name. Next call is the state attorneys office. Thanks for the information.
So many entries in so little time...curious, 7 of us in the last 24 hours alone. Well, I too got the call from 718-547-3397. Two calls actually. The first was from Kevin at American Financial. A Middle Eastern accent. Also looking to "reduce my debt" or some such scam. He was really upset when I told him I wasn't interested before he had even started his sales pitch. He ranted "How can you NOT be interested if you don't know what I'm calling about"? and summed up with, "I don't want to talk to you! Goodbye!"
And the second was from Anthony who was also disappointed to learn I wasn't interested. Like the rest of you, I'm also on the nat'l do not call list but when I asked if I could be put on THEIR do not call list, he ranted about how, "That's not my department!" and then hung up on me.
In comparison to the other entries above, it sounds like I got off easy.
