Male voice with slight accent. Said he was calling for American Express about a personal business matter.
To call 1-800-230-1284, 24 hours a day, and have my credit card available. Just didn't feel comfortable about call their 800 number, so I called American Express directly myself. They checked my account and found nothing to indicate anyone had called me from Amex. Amex was not interested in hearing about my story.
Seems like a scam to get your credit card number, and other identifying information.
I have received a call from this number 4 times today. Seeing as how i don't have an American Express card, and the caller never leaves a message, I can't know who they are claiming to contact me on behalf of....SHADY
We have gotten several calls from this number too. I never returned any as I paid them directly recently. today they called again and left the same type of message above. that was about 1:30 today then at 4 pm they called and i answered and told her they were fraud and I hung up. She was yelling maam in the backround as I hung I. I called the number back and she answered American express.,..
Left a VM shouting about a 'Amex with an urgent business matter...'. When I called back the woman answered "American Express" and said that she did not know why the Caller ID would appear as Heshy Botknecht with a non 1-800 number. She immediately asked for my card number (not account number) so she could look into the matter. Obviously, I didn't comply and hung up.
