I highly doubt that it is another business. My guess would be a simple minded someone who knows they are getting under your skin, deliberately harassing. There are a lot of just plain weird people out there who have strange things going on upstairs.
Gave his name as Bob Singer - Extremely rude and pushy telemarketer with a stereotypical New York attitude (with apologies to all the lovely people from New York). Insisted on speaking to my boss (by first name) about "his inquiry." He refused to give me more information and was condescending and demeaning in his conversation with me. Finally I got it out of him that he was calling about our "direct request" for information about ice melt. I told him my boss doesn't have anything to do with that and that he would have to speak to a member of our Properties Committee. He went on to argue with me that he was given my boss's name and pushed me to give him a cell phone number for one of the Properties guys. When I wouldn't do that, he got louder and more pushy. I told him I was sorry I couldn't help him and have a nice day, and then I hung up. He was still blabbering on when I hung up.
They have called at least 5 times in the past two weeks. If anyone even talks, it is a man with a New York accent, asking for our pastor by first name. He talked to her once last week -- insisted she ordered ice melt, then when she said she wouldn't take care of that kind of supplies, he said that someone else from here must have ordered it. Wrong. Very rude; would not stop talking; she finally hung up on him.
