There's a whole bunch of Green Card Lottery scam websites such as USAFIS.ORG claiming to submit your application for the green card lottery. They have absolutely nothing to do with the DVD lottery, USAFIS is owned by a scammer in Israel. They don't have a single employee in the USA, they use USA mail boxes and USA VoIP phone numbers which you can rent over the Internet, to appear to be in the USA. Their one and only goal is to obtain your credit card number. Don't fall for it, they will withdraw hundreds of dollars as soon as they hang up.
USAFIS will call you many times trying to delay you from contacting your bank in the hope that the deadline for a chargeback expires. Don't believe anything they say as they lie all the time, if they charged your credit card, better contact your bank and ask for a chargeback as soon as possible. These persons are calling trying to sell you packages for language courses and the like pretending to help you getting green cards. I don't know how they got my cell phone number. This is abusive marketing.
The correct site for the Diversity Visa Entry Form is http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ that says applications for the DV-2012 period is closed. And horrors, the site only supports IE6 or higher.
usafis.org is *NOT* a legit US Gov website; legit US Gov websites end in ".gov" usafis.org's registration looks dodgy to me. usafis.org is registered to "Domain Admin," 123 Town square Place 861, Jersey City, NJ 07310, 201-604-6527, with a domainetor.com email contact and has no abuse service. The real owner hides his name behind a generic "Domain Admin." domainetor.com is registered to DomainsByProxy which is notorious for sheltering owners of dubious websites, and googling "domainetor.com" shows no live website so domainetor.com email addresses may not even exist. Stay away from usafis.org.
