Indian guy with bad grammar and not a great command of the english language was vague and told me that I could go to jail for fraud and tax evasion if I didn't call him back.
He mentioned an ongoing tax problem that he needed to talk about.
Then he said repeatedly that I should not ignore this call and that I should call him back at his direct number. Did not leave a name.
Very loud "call center" sound in the background.
I have seen several sites state that this number is a fraud.
I just rec'd the same message. I didn't answer the phone, but they left a message with the same info... but didn't say a name. It was a male with a thick Indian accent. #1 The IRS wouldn't call, they would send a letter. #2 The due process would not be immediate as this idiot said.
Bottom line, is I'm going to report this number and not worry about it!
Received a threatening call from a male with an Indian accent. Gave this call back number: 718-713-8369. Warned me not to ignore it and that there would be a legal suit against me due to tax evasion and possible arrest to follow.
Just got a call from an Indian woman who claimed she was an officer working for the IRS wanted my daughters phone number. I didn't give it. Said she would have to disconnect the call. Great. The IRS officers aren't going to call your phone. I have only received letter from the IRS detailing the exact issue.
