someone says they are an animal rescue outfit and they solicit a $5.00 donation. If you donate you are eleigble to win a lot of money. A follow up call said there were some missing funds and asked for a bank account number. This call was to an older lady that has to have someone sit with her for most of the day. She is an easy target.
Three weeks ago I received a call from George Stevens. He stated he was with the company of Morgan Investments NYC. 646-593-8085. I learned later the 646 area code is for mobil phones.
He told me I had won a sweepstakes and told me to write down the file claim number ( 22038197 ).Yhe winnings was for 9.8 mllion dollars. I was advised not to talk to anyone. Mr Stevens also told me to stay by the phone and Mr.Joseph Reed ( a financial advisor ) assigned to my claim would call me in about 30 minutes.
Mr Stevens called. His number 888-5659135 ext 527. He also told me I would need an access code number to call him and he would give to me the number the next time he called. He has not given me this number. However I have called George Stevens and he put my call through to Mr Reed.
At this time 2-29-2012 , Joseph has told me the winnings are being held in a bank in Madrid Spain. He is working to certify who I am so the money can be released to a US bank. Also a Ms Galloway from Jenkins and Miller , and they are a law firm in the country of Panama . At this time Mr Reed told me I need to Certify who I am to Jenkins and Miller by getting a Cashiers check for $1240.00 made out to Jenkins and Miller. By doing this Jenkins and Miller will get the money released and transfered to a bank here in the US. That is where I am at today 3-1-2012. I will be talking to Mr Reed later this AM. I know this is a scam. Be aware if anyone else this the same kind of call. I want all the info I can get to turn over to the FBI and local police. And anyone else to get these people stopped.
Same story from Rothschild Investments however my scammers use the Wounded Warriors charity as the supposed organization giving this money to me. Scams are sickening but using the American Soldier in this way is even more sickening to me.
Just remember, these people attempt to prey on the older and they use the so called winnings as a hook to churn up the greed.
It's fun to lead these people on, then pull the plug on them when they have spent so much time selling the scam to me. I think turn about is fairplay. :)
My parents received the exact same call this past week. I agree, this needs to be stopped & some form of action taken against this company/individuals. I'm checking to see if the local news can make the public aware that this is a SCAM!
