Caller ID identified this caller only as "New York". I didn't answer. An automated message was left stating "This is IRS" (not "This is the IRS" - bad English). It told me they were filing a law suit against me, and to call them immediately at 202-738-1919. It was also weird because of the way they said the number to call. They said "202738.1919" (202738 point 1919), like they were unfamiliar with American phone numbers.
Thanks for the info, filed with the links you provided. Will take this up with my Congressman. This old lady is angry.

This number called & left a message asking me to call a 202-821-4201 back. They claimed to be the IRS & said they have a lawsuit against me. I called the 202 number back & it's a loud call center with a foreign person answering as the IRS. I asked to be removed from their call list & they said "ok, no more calls", I asked if they had my number on their id & asked him to repeat it, I said again "make sure I don't get anymore calls" ... He "ok, b*tch!" & hung up on me.
