IF you were really going to court, you would have received a SUMMONS from a process server (without warning) - not a random phone call.

They had my ss# that's scary

They said pay it now or go to court

Did you get a WRITTEN document that was MAILED (post office) showing their company name & address, original creditor, dates, amounts, etc.???  Otherwise you have been notified of nothing.  Contact your local CIVIL division at your local courthouse.  They will verify there is no warrant against you (and this caller is a scammer).
