I received a call from from a man who spoke fast and was hard to understand. He claimed that he would process a rebate from Con Edison for us. He asked for my account number, which is when I hung up. An internet search using the terms 'con ed rebate spoof' brought me to this site. There is a similar story about this scam for 413-553-6134. I didn't get the name of the company.
I just received a phone call today is Friday February 17th at 4:53 p.m. approximately and a woman answered and said is this mrs. Farina and I said yes and she hung up I called back the number twice and left two messages I'm not sure if it's going to do anything but I needed to get it off my chest because I believe it's a scam.
I don't want to be responsible for anything they send me if they use my credit cards I am so angry right now. I am not sure what my next step should be to alert my bank my credit cards I'm really dumbfounded right now thank you
