Hi
I just found a way of getting rid of these pests:
First you must have call forwarding selective on your phone, This is when you can forward selected numbers to any other number.
Now, activate the call forwarding SELECTIVE feature and add one of Babytobe.com's number as the forwarded TO number. Then it will allow you to create a list of numbers to forward to them. Add all their numbers.
When they call you, they will call THEMSELVES. Clever huh?
Just found in thread on their other number that they're trying to get your credit card number at the end - $1.95 charge for all the 'free' stuff. And also learned that it seems they're fishing for very personal info that can be used for id theft, such as city of birth - so don't answer any of their questions or give them any info!!
They seem to like to pretend they have all your info and just want to confirm it, so they will say things like, and the city you were born in again was?
This 718 # has called me 4 times in the last 2 days on my cell phone....once at 9 pm. on Sun. I didn't know who it was so haven't answered it, figured if they really want to get a hold of me, they can leave a message. Never have, but keep calling. So annoying. So finally I googled the area code to see where it's coming from and to my surprise found all these web sites about this #. Can we sue these people? It's ridiculous! They need to be shut down!
Like all of the others here I've been called about 6 times today and twice yesterday, from this number. No message is left, ever. I'm starting to get annoyed. I've never registered with any baby websites and especially not with my cell phone #. If they call back again I'm going to tell them how the cow chews the cud.
I just got a call at 8:46 P.M. on a Saturday night from 718-989-2507. So I decided to goggle it and found this page. I think that it is strange that a few people have said that they have gotten calls on their cell phones, since that is what I have and don't give this # out as I have a regular home phone on a no call list to stop this from happening. So like some of you before me I checked out their website and found no where to sign up for anything, but I do remember getting a mailing from them a few weeks back with "the same old baby coupons" you get from many companies. I did not sign up for this and now when they call back I will be prepared to answer with a few qusetions for them!!!!
I have received NUMEROUS calls from 718-989-2507 in the past few days. So i decided to file a complaint with the FCC. I suggest you do the same. Go to: www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html
