I had a voice mail from this number. The man said he was officer James John or Jones from state investigation department (doesn't exist). He said he was calling about a legal affidavit and that there were 3 federal cases against me and my identity. If I didn't call him back he was going to have to open up his own investigation. He too had a thick accent. I am not even a resident of New York state.
I got a call from this number from officer Brian Anderson. The man said there was a legal case against my name and that there are 3 affidavits filed against me and he confirmed my name, home address and phone#. He said he was calling from State Investigation Department, Crime Investigation Bureau, Main Headquarters. He had thick accent. I am also not a resident of New York state. The call was very threatening and sounded like a scam to harass and extract money. I reported the incident to local police along with the number & name.
Some one from (718) 989-4664 called me today and stated her name was Stacy Smith and she was calling from Crime Investigation Agency. These shameless people are total pranks, thick Indian accent, American names and threatening tones......I asked for a call back up number and was given 617-272-1501. I called back got an idiot on the other side saying "Hello, this is Crime InvestigationAgency" I asked to speak with Stacy Smith, one consistency got the idiot woman when I asked her about what department is this agency associated with....she sounded confused and said talk to my supervisor. The previous idiot came back on and when I asked the question he hung up in haste.........beware these rascals are not only a COLD CALL inconvenience they may be harmful....please have these roaches crushed before they hurt anyone!!!!
I had three calls from this number and left a voice mail that was threatening. They called me back and confirmed with me my phone # and address and identified the self as the Crime Investigative Unit of the State Department. I asked if she was working with the Federal govt. she said "yes". When I asked more questions, she transferred the call to her supervisor. The supervisor identified himself as officer James Williams. He had an authoritative and threatening tone. He said we have affidavit of three criminal charges:
1. Breaking laws and regulations,
2. Check fraud, and
3. Grand theft.
He said if you do not follow my instructions, they will come to arrest me.
I asked him to come and arrest me. He then hung up.
I called our County police and reported the incidence.
