Someone who could barely speak English, called my cell phone 3 times then left a message. "do not disregard this message. Have your attorney or you call back on this number. If you don't have an attorney one will be given to you. If you do not call back, bad luck for you. Goodbye" I called the number. After scaring me to death with "if you don't send the money in the next 30 minutes, an officer of the law will come to your place of employment and arrest you. You owe on a payday loan from 2012. He gave me a few payday names and then gave me US Cash Lending. I was beside myself with fear. However, if I had really been able to calm down I would have realized that companies don't do it like this. He asked me,"do you read you email? You were sent emails regarding this default and you will be prosecuted for fraud, making false statements on an application plus a few more things. I told him I don't owe money and he said,"you must pay $789.21 to avoid prosecution or $7084 if he has to begin the process of having me arrested. The company, US Cash Lending, has a consumer alert: Look up the name and it pops up. It is extortion. He had all my information. Never validate their information. I now know how to handle these calls. After I hung up I looked up this company. Glad I did.
