Well I got 4 calls from them and finally on the last call I answered, how in the heck did they get my last four digits of my ss. This was really scarey at first due to the same day someone got my debit card and had 8 charges for ea.com and origin.com, now I feel that my identity is at stake.
I did hang up on them and got a call back that that was so wrong, and i would be arrested in 24 hours, and better get a good attorney.
Well, I just got a call earlier today, saying the same thing! They threaten to have a police come to my job and arrest me and make me lose my job. I was concerned until they didn't want to give me any information of the payday loan they claimed i owed. So I told them i need time to get the money. Then, I did all the research on the phone number and the law firm they gave me . . . . .ALL FAKE!!!!!! So, Now, I know that its fake, I filed a complaint with my local law enforcement and I can't wait to talk to them tomorrow.

I received 3 calls from them in 10 minutes. When they called back the 4th time I answered and they also threated me with the same threats. After I hung up I received a call on mu house phone from a " out of town" number then they called my cell phone. Caller ID on my cell phone showed " Emergency Number 911 " . Last time I checked the 911 system does not call your cell phone lol
I have a vm from this phone number and I also talked to them twice today, yes they called me back after I told them to send information by mail and that I would not give any information over the phone. Totally scary because they had my entire SS#, address etc. Exact same scam as reported by everyone else. The police officer neighbor said this was a scam but to call banks etc. just to insure no unauthorized withdrawals happen from my accounts.
I contacted the attorney whose Denver law firm name is being used. They also were actually using his name. He is aware and reported it to the Colorado authorities. He seems like a decent guy who is obviously unaware of the scam. Other internet reports show they actually user the names of real law firms so if someone googles it they see a real name. Sadly, to some people, the scam works.
I picked up on it right away and just messed with them. How they have your personal info? You probably either had a payday/auto loan, or filled out an inquiry form which actually goes to a bunch of valid lenders, and some of these scam artists. That's how they know your social and job info. In my case the only thing I remember is filling out a car loan application which now in retrospect was a bad idea since it resulted in nearly 20 calls from India residents named Mike Jones asking for my bank account info.
