This company robo-calls my private "do not call" registered line at least once a day, all hours, from morning until night. The answering machine announces "First Credit Se." I have never done business with this company, do not have any accounts past due, and have exceptional credit. I do not answer unsolicited phone calls, either. I have reported them, but it makes no difference. What is the next level of investigation required to get them to STOP?
I have been receiving these calls for a few weeks now as well. A recorded message saying, "Hi ! Call me right back for some exceiting news!" I called with a friend's cell phone and was put on hold. Someone answered who wanted to know what was the phone number where the message was left. I asked for them to identify themselves and they said rudely, "I dont have time to play games with you, If you cant tell me the phone number." and they hung up on me. Where can I report this?
It must be a collection agency for Gold's Gym. I got the call too. Gold's has messed up my bill since I had to change credit card numbers, due to a stolen card.
They ignore the proper info you give them, then accuse you of not paying, even after you have given them the proper account number.
Totally a case of poor communication, the left hand of this company not knowing what the right hand is doing. Rather than Gold's calling you to find out what the problem is, they turn it over to collections.
The calls stopped for a month AFTER I sent them PROOF that an old account they were talking about was closed in 2000 and has been closed with a clean record before, during and after it closed An old account almost 8 yrs. ago. YEESH! Today I got a call on my machine saying "Why are you NOT returning our calls? This is an urgent business matter. You NEED to call us back." (yeah, that'll happen) I have and will again report them to the BBB and the attorney general. Document the number of times they call.
I just got exactly the same voice mail message. So they must still be in operation....Thank you all, for these postings! I will not call back.
FYI I googled it (03/13/08), and it is a verizon cell number in NJ. I will ask my phone co if they can block calls from this particular number. I will also report it to the proper authorities.

I just got the call and they said I had an outstanding debt for golds gym. I told them that I didn't feel comfortable givimg me credit card information over the phone. He then said he could give me detailed info about my account. He gave a birthdate that wasn't mine and he didn't have the correct info regarding my membership. Seems like a scam to me. I told them that I would handle it with Golds personally.
