I BELIEVE THIS IS THE OHIO TROOPERS COALITION. GOOD PEOPLE WHO CALL NOW AND THEN FOR DONATIONS FOR OHIO PEACE OFFICERS WOUNDED IN THE LINE OF DUTY AS WELL AS DONATIONS FOR OTHER GOOD CAUSES SPONSORED BY THE OHIO STATE TROOPERS. THEY HAVE OTHER NUMBERS BUT ALL BEGIN; 740-206-....
Gave to "troopers" charities often years ago then heard a troubling rumor and dug into it a bit more. If you talk to them, ask if the person to whom you're speaking is a trooper/officer; turns out quite often that it's a contracted organization and the actual troopers get very little of the money that you donate - think 5-10%. I prefer to find ways to give where a higher percentage of of my donation makes it to the actual cause, but sometimes that's difficult. Not suggesting to anyone that they don't give, just offering the back story that I found.
I received several calls from this number, some as late as 10:40 PM. I have answered and received no response. When it is left to ring, no message is left. The caller ID says OHTRP. I have also donated to Ohio Troopers in the past. The number showed up as a New London, Ohio number on another search site.
I received a few calls from this number, no messages ever left. I usually see"OHTRP" when the troopers call, but this one didn't come up that way for some reason...
This number has come up twice on caller ID. I PAY to have my number unlisted, but was recently cited for parking in handicap with a valid permit and my handicapped mom not in the car with me, but in the store! If this is a donation solicitation, they have used police records for private benefit. I'm suing. This also is NOT an area code in Ohio, anywhere. It must be a third party solicitation on behalf of Ohio police. These companies MAKE PROFIT. They get paid to collect for "charities."
