We screen the machine for mom - 740-901-9980 - sounded like a computerized voice but said her name was Nicole - then the call seemed to have technical problems and no one responded to my several "Are you still on the line?" inquiries. I called the number back & a machine receptionist, who sounds like "Nicole," says I'll get the next available operator, then says if I just received a call from this number, they'll call back tomorrow, and then she says "If you believe you received the call in error, press 5 to be removed from our call list." I did. Neither voice identified the company name or purpose of the call.
Called twice, no messages. Lancaster, OH and out-of-area on the caller ID. I guess if you don't answer they try a different "name". I actually try to answer these unrecognized calls , just to press the #2 key and hold it so they get a high pitched tone in the ear. On the phone that won't give a constant tone, I alternate between 2 #s until they hang up. Thieves don't obey laws, so that's the way to get a little satisfaction out of the ordeal.
I have gotten dozens of calls from this number. I finally called back. I tried #5 as the option to take my # off of "their" list. Still getting calls. Hopefully it will end soon
I called the number back 1 minute after they called me, and it said it was not a working number! Clearly a scam of some sort, most likely computer generated.
