I just got a USPS express mail check with no instructions. The check is drawn off of Guaranty Bank and issued by moneygram payment systems inc. I tried to call to verify funds with Moneygram at 1800moneygram and they said they don't show that Guaranty bank has issued a cashier's check yet and there are no stop payments on the check number. The routing number for the bank is a valid routing number. The bank itself was unable to validate but was also not able to invalidate the cashier's check. I told the sender that my bank placed a hold on the check for 7 days. The individual is going by the name of Mike Greg. He texts back promptly and seems in no hurry. He has not made any demands for western union. He solicited me off a job site where my resume is posted to be his personal assistant. He states he is an artist on tour in Australia. He is wanting me to pay bills and send/receive packages for him. He says the packages may be opened and I can use his USPS account number to mail packages. He also said he may need me to buy some things for him like artwork, clothing, or even electronics. It sounded too good to be true but thought I would go along to see what happens. I went to my bank and presented the check and asked for an administrative hold until the funds are completely clear. This guy claims the money is good. Lol!
I responded to an ad for that same name, Mike Greg. I was suppose to receive a check USPS but I haven't received anything yet. He did email me on 7/25 wanting to know the status on the check. Then yesterday he texted me on my cell phone. I responded back to him.
I kind of figured this was too good to be true. If I have any problems with him I will tell him my son is a police officer, which he is.
