The guy asked for the name of the previous owner, who died unexpectedly at the end of last year. As most people have been after I break the news, he was speechless for a bit and stuttered through apologies. He then asked for who took the position, which I answered truthfully--his wife has taken full ownership and now runs the company.
It was his response that really kind took me aback: "...she doesn't do everything he did, does she? I mean, she can't..."
I took personal pleasure in just stating, "She does."
After recovering from that "amazing" fact, he asked for her, which I then said she was in a meeting (also true), but could put him in her voicemail. He said that was fine, but after I input the extension and transfer button, it just sat there---which means he hung up.
I looked up the number, and while a legitimate business (I guess), we're not a merchant, and have no need of their services. That dash of sexism didn't help any, either.
Comes up on office CID as 804-897-1260, then 8048971260 right underneath (no dashes) - my first clue that it's a scammer. Called back blocking # from fax machine "Versatile Merchant Solutions". No thanks. Will only get picked up and hung up.
Called 2 days in a row in the morning. Left no message, but the first day, there was a background conversation going on for a minute before disconnecting.
I'm a business owner & I received a call from this number, on my business phone line, and the woman asked to speak to me, stating my full name, & not referencing the business. Suspiciously, I stated,"May I ask who's calling, & she gave me a personal name. She was very offensive and rude and wasn't being forthcoming, so I hung up.
She calls back with an attitude & immediately requests to speak to a manager; lol,"This is is him", I respond. She says,"No its not, this is the guy who just answered the phone last time." & then hangs up on me. She calls back a 3rd time, I answer, & she immediately hangs up without saying anything. Block this number, it's spam!
Received call from 18048971260 897-1260, I identified it was sales call and hung up. Received a call maybe 30 seconds after I hung up from wireless caller 638-4071. He started off stating he was rudely hung up on and asked to speak to me again, I asked if "she" currently did business with him and he stated he would find other means of contacting "her" and hung up.
Got call from 804-297-1260 and the fellow asks for our Co-Owner by his first name only. When I asked who is calling, he states REMY and that he is with VMS. When I ask to take a message, he just hangs up. Called last week and again this week. Total waste of time!
