I got the same call from "Mary Wilson" from Allegheny County saying someone would be served tomorrow. Funny thing is, they said the call was intended for my best friend but called my number, of which I've had for 10 years and she's had her same number for 20 years LOL
Got a message they are trying to serve me with papers from my county. That gave me a date of Monday 3/11 to serve me. Well it's Friday 3/10 they left message.
Called saying they were calling for Bexar County, Texas. Someone in Texas is trying to sue me for some money I owe them. This is obviously another attempt to extort funds from an "unsuspecting" senior citizen.
Husband just got the same call from 832-225-3721, obvious recorded message, saying her name is Mary Wilson a process server for Essex County and would be serving legal docs on him tomorrow, 3/14, between 3 and 5 p.m. Process servers don't call ahead - duh, who would wait around like Oh yay, I'm getting served today! Also says if you are not available to accept service, it will be noted as a direct refusal to accept service. Nice try, I don't know about other states, but in NJ, papers are considered served if they send them both regular and certified mail to your address on record, whether you sign for them or not. This scammer suggested he would miss his court date and have no further recourse. Also BS, if you choose not to respond to the complaint filed against you within the allotted 35 days, a judgment has to be entered against you, of which you ALSO MUST RECEIVE A COPY. Anyway, a call back to this number goes right to voicemail. Reporting to FBI, etc. People don't fall for this nonsense - they prey on people they can intimidate!
