I think Nicole changed her last name to "Kaiser" or "Kyser" or something like that. Said to call back a 832-862-5089 number. I agree with CWG40, a legit person would not notify you in advance. Also, why show their number as "Unknown"? What kinda [***] is that?
someone called my cellphone and job number with their number blocked. left a voicemail telling i am going to be served between 3 & 5 on monday the 23rd. gave the name of dave cannon. left this number as a contact. did not give the name of the company or said why he was supposedly serving me.
I received a call on Feb 18 2015 at 1:56pm from a blocked number. The caller stated her name was Nicole Brown and she was an independent processor in Alamance county and she would be serving me papers on Friday between 3-5 pm, and if I had any questions I could call this number 832-925-4944 and try to clear it up. Didn't Why I Was Bring served, And What Company I Was Being Served from.
The person calling herself Nicole Brown and her crew are a long-time scammers on 800notes. Mz Brown likes to threaten you with criminal prosecution for being in debt, (which is totally illegal) and she tells you that she's going to serve you with "papers" within the next few days (what legitimate process server notifies you in advance of service?) She generally has a threatening 'hood-type demeanor. She also likes to yell and scream too. She and her crew have been doing this for awhile now, but nobody knows where they are located. They change phone numbers and CIDs all the time.
It's all bluster. A total scam.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now. If you can find them.
