Since it's apparent that these morons will keep calling regardless of what I do I decided to have some fun with them. They start their bs spiel and I say "I'm sorry I can't hear you very well can you hear,me?" When they say yes I say "Oh good" and then I bang the phone down on the coffee table a few times. Doesn't hurt the phone or the table but I bet it hurts his ears. And it gives me a laugh.
I too just received a call from 856-234-5632 and it comes up as Kenneth Miller. Same story as the others, that my computer is infected. I went along with him for a short time, telling him that I work with computers for a living and he wouldn't give up. He was definitely calling from some type of call center as I could hear many voices in the back ground. I finally hung up on him but at least he did not get angry with me, nor did he have much of an accent.
I also get a lot of these calls and usually just don't answer or hit talk and off rapidly so it cuts them off. They called twice today with the Kenneth Miller number, which means they have spoofed some poor guy's phone number, and which they have also done to me. Had to block my own number and put a message on my voice mail explaining that I really didn't call a bunch of strangers.
Occasionally I do answer and play along with them and tell them I am following their directions (which I am not) then ask if they can hold for a moment. They always say yes so I put the phone down and continue with what I was doing. Eventually they hang up. Did that recently and they thot they had a hot one on the line and called back. I answered as the local sheriff's office. They said who? and hung up. Haven't called back. I also like "Chicks with D--ks, please enter your credit card number to continue." Next time I might answer it "Microsoft Corporate, how may I direct your call?" Also if you keep saying Hello? Hello? Hello? even while they are talking and then tell someone there is no one on the line they will usually give up. I figure if they are going to keep calling, it's okay to waste their time and have a little fun with them.
This is a scam and I am embarrassedI fell for it. They want to sell you their computer software protection and then hack into your computer.these people need to be taken care of legally. They say they are linked to Microsoft and they call themselves e wizard. It looks very legitimate but don't fall for it!!
