No message was left, since I did not pick up the phone but this is not the first call from "Starnet" 856-685-1476. I am on the Do Not Call List, too and have been. I know it must be a telemarketer, since that is what the calls have been since I recently put myself on the Do NOt Call list again as I have in the past...oddly.  It's as if they got the Do Not Call list and starting calling my unlisted number from it.

Ticked off in NJ
If Starnet really is Discount Energy Group then they have a Facebook page which gives a telephone number of 800-282-3331.
They have websites at discountenergygroup.com and discountenergysavings.com.

The domains are registered to Gregg Ruth at 22809 Pacific Coast Highway Suite 100 Malibu, California 90265 United States.  Gregg appears to own a large number of domains.

Gregg appears to be a jewelry manufacturer / wholesaler.  I was surprised to recognize the names of some of his dealers for my state.

Be sure to email Gregg @ [email protected] and call him @ (310) 456-1888 and let him know just how much you appreciate telemarketing calls when you are on the DNC.

I clicked "like" on their Facebook page just so I could leave them a nice note and then immediately unliked the page.

NJ Electricity Deregulation
On August 1, 1999, New Jersey lawmakers passed The Electric Discount and Energy Competition Act and since that time, NJ electricity customers have been granted the freedom to choose their own electricity provider. This Act gives homeowners and business owners in NJ the opportunity to break free of their local utility company and shop for electricity.

Before NJ Electricity Deregulation
Prior to NJ electricity deregulation, homeowners and business owners had to purchase all of their electricity from their local utility company, at rates approved by state regulators. There was no competition and the only way consumers could get a better price for electricity was to move to another utility area.

After New Jersey Deregulated Electric
After New Jersey deregulated electricity, most of the components of electricity supply became available for purchase at a price set by competition instead of regulators. These components include generation capacity, ancillary services, and transmission. The availability of an electricity market opened the field for alternative providers of electricity, including those that incorporate eco-friendly and sustainable forms of generation. Since deregulation went into effect, many companies have become licensed to sell electricity in New Jersey, giving residents additional options for their electricity needs.

If you live in an area of New Jersey that’s serviced by PSE&G, ACE or JCPL and you want to lower your electricity bills, just use the free rate comparison calculator on this page to see how much you can save by switching to Discount Energy Group.
