Received a call from someone with a very thick Indian accent claiming he was calling from Windows about my computer (should have at least been smart enough to say Microsoft). He said my computer was "putting errors on the world web and must be fixed immediately". I told him I was not stupid enough to fall for his scam and asked for the company name. He said he was calling from the Scam Department. I asked if he said he was calling from the Scam Department and he replied "yes, and I will F#&@ your computer up if you do not comply". I just said "whatever" and hung up.
They called us 4 times two nights ago--11:30 p.m; 1:15 a.m.; 4:15 a.m.; and 5:30 a.m. in addition to several calls during waking hours. I was rude to them and my wife said that that is why they keep calling back. I told them that I can't imagine they would be able to sell anything to someone who they wake up in the middle of the night! But that didn't stop them from trying.
I got 2 calls from this group today. The first one came up with the number on - Microsoft tech they said. I told them they had called me the other day and the problem was fixed. (I felt like scamming them too. )
About an hour later, another call, this time it came up, Unavailable - Out Of Area. It was MIcrosoft again, same thing about my comp. Told them that they had just called me earlier and you had fixed the problem. They hung up. There is a lot of noise in the background and a strong India accent.
Seems if they want to get to you, and you don't answer or they don't get the result they want one way, will call under another number.
I got a call from this number at 12:19 claiming they were the IRS and that they have called me several times. They wanted me to know they are bringing a lawsuit against me, like I'm dumb enough to think the IRS would leave messages. Anyhow, I read the other messages, and I don't know if it was this number or not, but about 6 months ago I also got a call from an Indian about my computer being a security risk.
