Got a call from this number while at work. Gave me extension #89067 and said his name was Lloyd. I did not call this number back. Instead, I called PHH Mortgage's main customer service number. When it asked for an extension number, I put in the extension number that was given to me and it did transfer me to a Lloyd. Apparently they are calling to see if I want to consolidate bills or something. Not thrilled that I'm getting cold-calls from my mortgage company, but it is them and not some other scammer.
PHH Mortgage company is the caller. They have bought loans from other companies, so some people may not realize the PHH is the current holder of their mortgage. The man who called us did so last week and left a detailed message indicating he knew our full loan information. They are calling people to encourage them to refinance, but you do have to go through a 20-25 minute session answering questions to verify if you qualify for the re-fi rate. They bought our home loan from USAA and I think I might wish to talk to someone at USAA about some questions I have on comments Louis made about how mortgage payments are calculated.
So, while this is a telemarketing call, it IS from a company we do business with so it's legitimate. We just have to discuss it and consider if we wish to take the offer but first I want independent questions answered for me by USAA where our mortgage started. As others have said, the callback # given was 800-446-0964 and Louis' extension.
Just received a call at work - I think Didi is correct. They asked me if I wanted to refi and take cash out. LOL 8 years left on a 15 year mortgage makes no sense. She couldn't get the term on her screen, but it sounded legit, but not thrilled about get a cold call for refi.
Call #4 today from this number, so I called USAA and PHH both and talked with supervisors. The young man calling does get a commission if he gets people to refi, and he's way too pushy and gives bad information and asks for personal information in a way he should NOT. So I requested he be retrained. Hopefully they will retrain all their staff.
Got a call from this number at 10:04 AM today (left no message), then another call at 4:09 PM (someone calling himself Eric left a long message). After that I blocked the number. This "Eric" rattled off my address and interest rate of my mortgage, kind of alarming. He said he was with PHH Mortgage Services. I just got a letter from my (old) mortgage company about 2 months ago telling me they had sold the loan to PHH. Didn't take the new guys long to start telemarketing. I will never do business with cold callers, so they are wasting their time. I just hope they don't start calling from a new number now that I blocked this one.
