I got two calls today. One on my cell phone and one on my land line threatening me that I needed to do something quick before I got in trouble. They started listing a social security number that ended in 9823. I stopped them by saying that is not my social security number and the man hung up on me.
The number came over my cell phone as 0000. Man named Ronny John (heavy Indian accent) gave me the number 917-284-9294 stating that my son has a case against him that is about to be downloaded and once it's downloaded, Ronny can't help him anymore. He said my son took out a loan via the Internet and he is delinquent on it!
Don't be afraid of them. They have obviously stolen our social security numbers. Put an initial fraud alert on your credit report. File a complaint with the federal trade commission and file a report with local police. Nothing will happen to you. Do NOT verify your social security number with these people at ALL. Deny it. State...."I'm sorry, that's very close to my social security number but that is not my social security number. You must have made some kind of mistake".
