scam..
I received a message from this number too,1 917- 285-1454, called it back claiming he is a Treasury officer Shawn Marshall, gave me his badge number and an account number. Told me i have 3 federal tax cases..threatening me with jail time, freezing my bank account, police and sheriff to get me, face court bill amounting 45,000 bucks..This is my first time to receive this kind of call and I was so afraid and ended up humbly asking what are my options..coz who wants to go to jail?.. Jeez.. then he said if I pay $1600 right now using RITE-AID or WALLGREENs.. he can fix it but it has to be now.. i need to dress up and go now...and don't hung up til I reach the store. I was stunned...unless they work over-time.. Its Saturday 5pm in New York, no work for Gov employees...i placed him on hold ( which makes him so irritated saying i don't need to took to anyone) and called the police for advice..
I told him I called the police and gave his number and also called the FBI ..
..he just hung up..
Don't answer this scammer! States" This is officer Jimmy Author, a legal case has been filed against you and your physical address is under the federal investigation" He claims is calling for the treasury inspector general for tax administration and gives a made up case number. Reporting and blocking this fraud!
Received a phone call on today 5/20/16, stating her name is "Jessica" from treasury tax administration. She also said that this call is to "inform me that there is a legal case filed against me under federal investigation." She left the phone number 1-917-285-1454 and to call them. I wasn't given a file number; however, there was lots of noise in the background. I just feel that if the IRS had a problem with me I would have received something by mail personally from me. A co-worker had this happen to her right around when tax season was to begin in 2015.

I received a call from this scam at 1:48 on May 19, 2016. Was given a case number and then transferred to a sgt Brian Lincoln. Was told there were 3 steps to clear up my issue with them. Said they were with the treasure of tax administration. First step was to clear up the warrant for my arrest and that if I didn't they would be at my address to arrest me in 30 or 45 min. Then there was lots of threats once everyone else started talking to him on speaker phone. Once we told him we were on the phone with the cops he hung up.
