Called today @ 3:15 PM Mountain Time--caller ID displayed "Financial Services," whatever the hell that is. Whoever called actually waited the full 60 seconds it takes to listen to my answering machine message stating my number does not accept calls from telephone solicitors, then hung up without leaving a message. Another number added to my blocked list--WOO HOO!
Tried to sell me car insurance, called the number back and got a fast busy, after numeroustrys did get an answer, but from the clicks on the line it was clear to me that the call was rerouted, such as call forward a non american finally answered and told me that he could cut my insurance on my suv by 50 %. I asked him where insurance link was located and he said florida, when i said the area code did not match he hung up.
Thanks to all who posted with advice and information. IDNA the call. I have 3 apps on my iPhone not counting the IOS standard. True Caller is decent, but pretty new I think they are building thier DB. You call costs some/month. Ok but I'm going to drop it. The last, certainly not least does cost (pick a plan). Every penny is worth it! Idk about android. It's just called "Burner". You sign up costs will vary, you pick an area code. Doesn't have to be yours. They give you the other 7 digits. I use this number as my web "fill in your phone number (required) blank". If I get a call or txt on that number I know that they got it from the web, and some times they purchased it from someone on the web. It sure thins the herd (of cats). Once I got too many calling on it, I burn it (Delete), and get a new one. I recommend it fully. By Spokeo and your bait/switch program.
Sorry forgot to mention...when you use the app to C/B a number from an unknown caller, the number assigned is what shows on thier caller ID . A little bit hard for them to snag, sell, propagate to other a$$hats

Love your rant, however I believe you may want to term this a 1st Amendment issue. "Sounds like a 2nd Amendment issue, censorship, and a dictatorship just to let the scammers strip us of our funds and sanity."
