Scam caller "National Student Aid Center" offering to "provide assistance with my existing student loans". I have never had a student loan. Most likely an info-harvester scam trying to get credit/bank/personal details.
Answered call. Dialer of sorts talking about student loan reduction. Pressed 1 to be transferred. Rep answered, noisey background. Asked how they got my number - because I don't have a student loan. She said "I apologize" (click).... Was hung up on. Awesome
Auto-Dialer: "Hi we're contacting you from the Student Debt Relief Program regarding President Obama's new debt relief program that can lower your student debt by up to 40%, Press one if you'd like to speak with a representative"
Me: [Pressed One]
Some Lady: "Hi are you inquiring about the student debt relief program?"
Me: "Yes, yes I am..."
Some Lady: "Would you like to know how this program can help you with your student loan?"
Me: "I'm curious as to how you have my number and why you're calling me because I'm not an American citizen..."
Some Lady: [HANGS UP]
(I live in america but have no american student debt and am not a landed immigrant)
SCAM - incoming call to a cell phone from 917-391-5846 with no response then disconnect upon answering. Return call to 917-391-5846 results in a recording as a 'non working number'.
