Scam caller "National Student Aid Center" offering to "provide assistance with my existing student loans". I have never had a student loan. Most likely an info-harvester scam trying to get credit/bank/personal details.
Called my cell, I did not answer, they left the "student debt relief" robocall message.
Third one this week - jerks!
(I have no student loans)
Blocking on my phone.
Go to www.endrobocalls.org and sign the petition. It is by the Consumer Reports Magazine folks and they are pressuring the Feds and phone companies to end this nonsense.
Spread the word !
Got text from this number in response to Craigslist add (in which I did not publish my number). Asked for my Paypal info to pay and if they could send "a little extra" so I could pay their "shipper" because he is "out of town for work". Big NOPE.
917 391 5945 - I usually don't pick up calls from numbers like this, but I was expecting an important call and did not look at the caller ID before I answered. I first heard the background noise of a call center, then a man with a heavily accented voice (India) said he was from an employment agency. (I have my resume all over the Internet, career builder, indeed, monster, etc.) I then immediately realized it was a scam, so I told the guy: "I only speak English. Speak English!" Then he hung up. Definitely an employment scammer.
