Robo call and a heavy accented man connected after I answered. Said he was some-name from Time Warner Cable. I hung up, since we are not in TWC territory. Caller ID said Starnet. Fortunately, with my new cable/phone company, this number is now blocked.
I got a call like everyone else. I said no to all his questions about me. He had a middle eastern accent and knew all about my account with TWC. My address, and all and how long I had the account. I am calling TMC to find out what this is about.
had a call, said they were Time Warner, then gave them a blast from my Jr Safety Signal Horn, sick of these scammers, they all get a blast, from now on.
Got a call at 4:25 PM in the afternoon on May 26th 2016 and my home phone caller ID says STARNET and I do not answer it unless I know the person. I'm getting to the point of using a Air Horn because I'm getting sick and tired of this [***].
Call came up as 'Starnet'. Dude with thick accent claimed to be calling for AT&T with some amazing offers to switch from my current provider. Funny, either they did their research to find that there's only one competitor in this area or my provider is selling my information. Probably both.
Don't know if it is a scam and don't care. I would rather cut off all services entirely before I would ever patronize AT&T. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the call center was acting on behalf of AT&T because this isn't the first telemarketing call I've received from them. When they launched the digital life crap they ignored the federal and state 'Do not call' registries then and still continue to do so despite being verbally told to cease and desist.
Filed a complaint with donotcall.gov against AT&T as futile as it tends to be. Recommends everyone do the same.
