Those sort of number/letter combos, along with very short numbers, sometimes are used to get past call-blockers. I understand that there are call-blockers that can deal with them, but not all models can. Strange numbers also are used to entice the unsuspecting to answer a call. The vic sees this strange number on caller ID, and picks up the call. Won't work as a number to be called back, but as a Live Trap, you would be surprised how many people fall for it.
Good point! Why would anyone answer such a convoluted, meaningless, pathetically annoying criptic caller ID such as V10612191200302? Sadly the criminals do get some hits on this. So be forewarned people and don't answer calls like these.
