If you could read the threads you would learn that some people simply were issued an old number from a previous person that did not pay their bill.
Another revelation you could gain (if you try real hard) is that some people had a hardship due to medical, employment loss or similar situation beyond their control.
And if you really close your eye and concentrate you could even learn that if they just wanted to hide from the collections department they could simply change their number, however since most of these people have done nothing wrong on their part and if in fact they are late on their bill, that still makes it illegal for the collection agency to be calling in the above noted manner.
Based on what you wrote it is likely that you work for a collection agency or a similar line of work where it is your job to harass people and chase them for something they were suppose to do. You are simply there for a paycheck and could care less about why people are not doing what they should. Since you have no chance of being happy with your job or your life for that matter you then quickly judge people by saying it is their own fault that their privacy is being violated by people in India working for 50 cents an hour.
Let's give them a taste of their own medicine. Everybody call them back and just don't say anything. Do it multiple times each day and call their different phone numbers. I have a list of 10 of them. If everybody does this then they should get plenty busy wondering who is calling them. Here are some numbers you can call. They are all GE Money:

Beginning a month ago I began receiving calls from this number. Seven days a week 4 or 5 times a day. When I answer there is nobody there when I don't they don't leave a message.
I know they represent a lot of companies but I only have one account and if there is a balance on it I pay it off upon receipt of the statement.
