Received a call from this number on my land line. No message. Caller ID said Dayton, OH. Based on previous reports here, looks like another scam. Number now blocked. When will this ever stop?!?!?!?!?!?!
Thanks so much for your post. I'm always fascinated by the number of people who post here that actually return the calls of these scammers. There's absolutely no reason to do that, since they can make your life miserable by incessantly calling your number, spoofing your number, using up all of your cell phone minutes, or selling your number to someone else. The best advice is to never, never engage them if you want to be left alone. Maybe you can receive some short-term satisfaction by tormenting them, but if they want to get even, you're going to regret it.

No, they won't. The FCC doesn't block calls and in fact does very little to enforce laws regarding the DNC Registry, regardless of how many complaints they receive. The FCC might ask carriers to block these calls, but that's about all they're willing to do. You're pretty much on your own, regardless of what the FCC and FTC are supposed to do about unwanted calls.
Same as mentioned by others. Foreign accent. As soon as he said IT Department, I recognized the scam and hung up. Didn't have time when he called to string him along and keep him from calling other folks.

On past occasions I've wasted "their" time having them help me look for the Windows key, then after several minutes told them that I am using an Apple computer - no Windows key. Or I've followed their instructions to open the event viewer and told them it only has one entry. They usually think I've have done something wrong and repeat their instructions. After 2 or 3 tries I mention that this is a brand new computer and it's the first time it's ever been turned it on - no event history. It's entertaining to harass these pricks from time to time.
