Marty Zuckerman called me this afternoon. Left a message saying she was with Domari and is working on "a project" in my home state, and they wanted to ask for my help in pushing them in the right direction...whatever that means (off a cliff?)
This is the local number in Venice, FL for Domari & Associates. This is a single-office headhunting outfit, which is apparently run as a cold-calling sweatshop. These poor slobs are hacks, poorly trained, unsupervised, and must be reading from the same worn-out script. They must have a very high turnover rate, because we gets calls all the time from this outfit, but it is a different name every third call or so. They are universally unprofessional, out of touch with the market, and quite often just plain rude. It is a game of numbers for these mills, act interested then just put them on hold until they give up and quit calling.
Tim Simon called me from this number and asked to speak with my boss. When I advised him that he was out of the office, he asked for his cell phone number. I told him I would be happy to take a message, and he replied, "I need to speak with your boss IMMEDIATELY." I said, "Sir, I'm happy to take your information and have him return the call, but I cannot give out his private cell phone number." He got very aggressive and told me he'd better call back right away, because this was a serious matter -- he couldn't tell me WHAT the serious matter was, however.
I just took a call from Tim Simon, also, and he asked for our CEO by name. I told him that I would check to see if he's working out of our office this week or not (he often works at our parent company's office and only comes to our site every so often). I found out our CEO was not in and told Mr. Simon that, offering to transfer him to our CEO's voicemail. He was so silent for a few moments that I thought he hung up, but he finally said "Sure" and I transferred him to voicemail. I have no idea if he bothered to leave a message or not.
This Tim guy is vague and elusive when asked questions. Just kept asking for the name of our sales manager or owner. But wouldnt give any info. Sorry Timmy you will never get pass me without giving up info!!
