he called yesterday at work while I was really busy. Heavy acccent. asked for someone that does not work here. I hung up on him. He called right back and I let it go to voicemail. He called this morning and I told him that no one worked here by that name and to stop calling. Annoying.
This guy had a thick accent and asked for the retired CEO. I asked him several times to say why he was calling because I could not understand him, but he sounded like he was gargling marbles when he said it. I told him not to call back.
He asked me........is this "verified my name" then he said this is Dr. Marshall and then he hung up. When I tried calling back I got an error that the number was disconnected. What kind of craziness is that?
These types of calls look for sound bites. It's common more within the private sector rather than businesses. Perhaps they are attempting both residences and workplaces now.
Same story as most of you. Super heavy accent. Asked for one of our employees, and after some prodding claimed to be from United Airlines' HR department. The employee took the call and confirmed who she was... and he hung up immediately. Bizarre.
