I received a letter from the same company and it doesn't look legit at all. I did post bond for someone a year and a half ago for $500 and his charges were dropped so there was nothing outstanding, the letter says the refund is for $364 which doesn't add up. Also the letter does not say what this deposit refund is for, it asks me to send them a copy of my license etc... It doesn't sound very legit.
This is a slimeball, trying to steal identies and assets. If someone has a check for you, they send it. The street address is not a business. The business name is not registered in Florida, anywhere. He wants your ID for identity theft. Did he ask for a notarized power of attorney as well? This is so he can clean out your bank account and take any assets in your name. This turd is guilty of mail fraud and identity theft and needs to go to prison. I am not sure what public records he is accessing to find potential victims - any chance you received a settlement lately? Please contact the Florida Attorney General's office, perhaps they can help put this thief away.
Ok so now I feel real stupid because I called and talked to somebody after I got the letter and I did send my info. once I saw this I called and got no answer so what should I do next??? How do you know this guy is a fraud do you have his information??? Any information could help especially if he tries to steal my identity or something!! I guess I should have googled this place before I sent out my information.
I too received a letter, but no explanation as to why I was getting 'a refund'; just stated State of Florida (where I lived, eight years ago, for 15 years). I've not bailed anyone out and have no idea...So I called, got an answering machine and left my name and #, so we'll see...
