They called me today and the woman, who said her name was Ellen, was very polite. She did try pushing the sale, and when I told her I don't have the purchasing power for the company she asked if I would personally like to buy anything. I told her no, which she took politely. She gave me the website and said to talk with the owner about it if he had any interest and she'd call back next week. Seeing these reviews and looking at the website makes me question buying from them. She pushed how all their artists paint with their mouths or their feet, yet several of the artists pictured (who are not apparently considered employees since they aren't listed there, you have to look at the backs of the cards to find them) are shown using their hands to paint. Not that they couldn't still be disabled, but I question if she was telling me the truth or pushing that information for a guilt trip. If I talk to her when she calls back I want to find out what THASC is supposed to stand for.
They do hire anyone and train you to tell any kind of story to get a sale. The sales trainer was some woman names June Pelosi if I recall. If you don't sell enough of their s**t they can you after about two weeks. TOTAL SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!
Just received a call from this number. Caller identified herself as Valerie and asked for my boss by name. I asked to take a message but she just stated she would call back. I told her it would be easier for me to take a message and have my boss call her. She said she would call back instead so I asked why we would do business with anyone to whom we cannot return calls. Hung up.
THASC is a private company so it doesn't have to open it's books to show profits. They weren't able to tell me over the phone how much the elderly and seniors earn who work for them. I'd especially like to know the profit vs. pay ratio. Unfortunately, I have found nothing yet.
Got a call from them today. Nice lady on the phone trying to get me to buy the same greeting cards. Told her I was sorry but our dump truck company is doing all we can do to afford fuel at the moment.
I am a sucker. I just bought cards. I know I overpaid but it sounds like it is for a good cause - I do hope most of the money goes to the handicapped but that may be naive. Before I gave my credit card number to them I went on line and found that they do have a webpage and the BBB gave them an A+ ranking. I fouind that they have been in business since the 70s.
The telemarketer who called me was polite and patient while I verified their status on line. She did take my card number down incorrectly and had to call me back but she was pleasant and polite.
