Did not answer the call but got the same pre-recorded message today around 10:20am ... something like "police recommend protection and we'll put a small sign in your yard and install a new security system for absolutely free". what bs. If i am on the do not call list, how do these solicitors still get my phone #?!
I got a call from this number and the name came up as "SERVICE." They introduced themselves (this was a recording) as FBI and gave the same similar information everyone else seems to be getting about putting a sign on the lawn and getting a "free" security system. I listened to the end and didn't say anything or press any buttons because I wanted to hear their "speil" over again. That was a new spam that I hadn't heard before. The FBI? really now! I have all kinds of blocks on my line to keep telemarketers, no name callers, do-no-call-list, etc., but they still sneak through. I called the number back and got the "this number is no longer in service" recording --about what I expected. I gave our local police department a call since this area of the country has had a ton of breakins over the last couple of years. I'm not sure they can do a whole lot with spam calls, but they have been urging the public (us) to report such calls and anything else that seems suspicious.
I got the call and pressed "1" to ask whoever human got on the phone to take me off the call list. I am on the "no call" list but apparently that does not matter to these clowns. The kid who got on the phone cussed me out, told me to f*** off and when I said I would report him and his number, he told me that the number doesnt really exist and continued to call me names. I hung up. What a country!
I won't bother answering any more. I have a security system and do not need a GE security system.
Same here! FBI, breakins, sign in yard free system. I get more calls now than ever before signing up on the DNC list!! If these clowns are in Oregon how do they get numbers on the East Coast? Every night it's a different call. I'm calling my Senator; let them figure it out!!!
