I got a call from this number I do not recognize. I tried to call back and the out of service or busy tone kept signaling instead of a ring. If this is a scam then I would love to have my number permanantly removed.
From San Francisco. Called ID indicated Doll Nursery. My home phone is on Do Not Call registry, has been for over 6 years.
I picked up, a recording mentioned lowering credit card interest rates, Press 1 for info, Press 2 to stop receiving further notifications. I pressed 2, immediately got transferred to 'Jake'. I told him I'd pressed 2 to stop getting notifications, he hung up on me.
Of course this is a total scam. Jake was a native English speaker, so it's unlikely one of those Russian or Chinese robo call scams. We'll see if the calls actually do stop (doubtful), though I did register this with www.donotcall.gov.
Yes, what they're trying to do is most likely illegal. These are identity thieves that the US hasn't been able to catch up with, either because of the security of VoIP spoofing or international jurisdiction.
Just received a call on my landline from this number. Also did not answer as I didn't recognize it. After reading the previous posts am glad I didn't. I am also currently registered on the Do Not Call List, but receive 7-10 unsolicited marketing calls a week-even received a text on my cell last week from Walmart which was a gift certificate offering. My cell is also on the DNC list. Particularly as I live on a fixed income and every call/text/voice mail costs me.
Robo-call message from "Credit Card Services" offering to reduce my interest rates. My Caller-ID showed the name as "Dollnursery". When you call this number back you get a recorded message loop that asks if you would like to be removed from the marketer's do not call list. Gee, I'm already ON the real Do Not Call List and look at how effectively our government is working because these morons call about every few months and every time I file a complaint.
Received call from 971-373-0186 -- We are on the "Do Not Call" list. Does anyone know how to really get rid of these unwanted calls? Would a call to the telephone company help or are they oblivious to these unwanted calls and are only interested in receiving my monthly phone bill payments (which in spite of these unwanted calls) continues to rise monthly! Thanks for any information.
