This HAS to be a scam. I do NOT have Verizon, and got a call from that number. Newark. Did not answer. They no message. It is so simple folks. If you don't know the number ... DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. If it's legit, or someone you really know .. they will leave a message.
Getting repeated calls on Verizon cell claiming to be from Verizon Wireless. Asking to call back to 877-389-4905 and give a ref number about an amount due. This is a scam. Read up on this 877 number. Calls come from a few different numbers showing up on caller ID. Latest one from 973-718-4774. Landline in Newark, NJ.
i keep getting calls from verizon from this # 10 days before my bill is due to remind me to pay my bill before
the 17th..i just started ignoring it..send me a text message instead.
I give up, the scammers win. I'm porting my cell phone number to Google Voice to block these scam phone numbers. Here's the info - http://support.google.com/voice/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1065667 Google Voice also gives you free text messaging and visual voicemail. Verizon won't help, the FCC won't help, only Google will help stop these scam calls.
