These people keep calling me stating I have committed bank fraud with a payday loan. I never took out a payday loan. They will not stop calling me and saying they are coming to arrest me. Their number is 201-203-9996... Do now I keep calling them! I play with them like they play with me. They have a magic jack phone, use it to your advantage. They got so angry! They began cursing... I says let all of us call whenever we get a chance. Say you are the FBI if you want. Federal Busting Inc or whatever. Disguise your voice and make noises. Get them back!!!!
I received a call from this Phone number saying they are contacting me on a court judgement on my Name and SSN. I have received like this before from New York before and apparentley these people don"t know how to take a hint. I have contacted the police fraud Bureau and they are looking into it. So Beware.
This is a version of the you-have-committed-a-crime extortion scam and you are being...
1. charged with fraud or passing bad checks or embezzlement or
2. served with a court summons or arrest warrant or bench warrant or whatever or
3. located in preparation to being served or for a lawsuit or to be arrested or
4. sued for cable TV usage that you've been stealing for years or
5. whatever stupid crap reasons they will think up next.
And you have to...
1. call back with your case number or
2. confirm your address or SSN or whatever so you can be served or your papers can be processed or
3. pay $895 now to avoid paying $5,000 in court or
4. whatever stupid crap reasons they will think up next.
Beware extortion scams come in many flavors and they constantly evolve to stay one step ahead of the law.
The FBI warns about payday loan extortion scams here http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/paydayloanscam_120710
The BBB has issued several alerts on this scam, just google "bbb.org alert phony debt collector"
Never do what they tell you to do but report them to the Internet Crime Complaint Center http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.
I just received a phone call from this number this morning with the same information. I have received these before and actually got scammed into paying before. Do we have any further information on this number? Thank you all for sharing your stories. These calls are so disturbing and it is comforting to know that you are not in this alone. Thank you again!
I have been receiving these calls as well. Saying something about they got my number through my name and SSN. I couldn't understand where they were calling from or the company. I called them back and left a message stating that they need to have someone who can talk clear english leave a message and what exactly the problem is in why they are calling me. I get calls from them about 6 times a day. They will call. leave a message and call back in like ten minutes. This company is calling from all over the eastern seaboard. I get it from NJ, NY, Virginia, Conn, and Maryland.
