Chester Rivera called from this number stating that he would rent me the house in Gretna, LA (823 Delia Ln.). He also pushed for me to send him money through Western Union as a deposit to the name of Harry Smith. This indicidual claimed to be from Haiti and live in OK.
Yes this guy Michael responded to my interest in the Bronx thru Trulia.com and it's a scam. He wanted me to send him a security deposit and he would send me the keys but I couldn't go into the house before me sending him the money and he didn't even ask for references or proof of income. I even said that I would call the Bronx District Attorney on him and he said he would kill me. I think I still may do this. I may call the Owner of the property. I hope he's not in on it.
The property he is trying to rent on Hotpad.com that I found is in Murrieta, CA. Using the current listed owners name - he has been e-mailing me talking about being honest and God fearing. He wanted the deposit to get the keys to be wired to a Nannette Young in Kansas City, KS. I checked the address he provided is a hers. How does she fit in to all this? What a bummer - this was a very cute house.
It is expensive but worth sticking with property managers.
