They are calling ALL phones - Land, Cell, and eventually, 'virtual' phones like yours. If a number is IN SERVICE, then they CAN - and WILL - call it.
We get these spam calls on ALL SEVEN lines our family uses: 2 business (one land, one cell), one personal land and FOUR PRIVATE cells. We even have three Google numbers that they reach, occasionally.
We also have TWO call blockers on our land lines. They STILL can call and get through - ONCE - until we chose to block them. Then, they just call with ANOTHER number, often just ONE DIGIT different, AGAIN.
We just got a call from this number on our home landline; the number we've had the longest and has been published and 'registered' with many businesses over the years - nearly four decades. That's why I came to this site to check it out. Call was 'anonymous' with NO NAME displayed; I picked up/hung up w/o answering to break the call.
This is RELENTLESS and people are tired of it, and rightly so. It is a Quality of Life issue.
If an INDIVIDUAL was doing this, then the Law would come down very hard on them. But, since these are CORPORATIONS, hiding behind call centers overseas, with the FILTHY RICH OWNERS protected by the politicians they've PAID to look the other way, nothing is truly done to stop this.
