I just got the same call 12;30 in the afternoon. It's really annoying. Especially when you have to reset your answering machine...That's why I do not give my number out but these people probably dial every number in the book!!
I had been receiving the same pattern of calls that manny posts describe. Finally answered today, fully intending to blow a whistle into the phone, when a perfectly pleasant voice asks me, by name, if I wish to resume subscription to a regional newspaper that I had let expire several months ago. Go figure.
I just started getting calls from this number in May. When I pick up the phone no one on the other end says anything. I decided to research the number and I just discovered that lots of people have been going through the same thing and that I am no alone with this problem.
This is the NY Post. My credit card # recently changed and autopayment stopped working. Rather than operating in a professional manner like sending letters, the Post apparently hires this company to call incessantly. I have been receiving daily phone calls from two different numbers - 201-210-5381 and 646-736-2923.
