someone called me saying that there was a lawsuit pending on my name and that i should call back if i want to settle.the name was anderson something.

They are calling from Bergman Cawley & Associates. They are scammers. They use various numbers to call and harass me numerous times per day. Other numbers are 201-292-8388, 201-292-8359, 201-292-8358, 201-292-8364, 201-292-8363, 201-292-8369

they are calling me and my work place stating that they are a lawsuit firm

I kept getting nasty calls from this number.  It definitely is a scam as they tried to scam me but I was smart enough to call my creditor.  If they call you, tell them you'll be filing a harassment report with local authorities and BBB.  Also, tell them you had spoken to your creditors and they were never authorized collection on your creditors behalf.  That will stop them from calling.
