This is one of those electric company scams that tries to get you to purchase their blocks of power. They harrassed us, called several time told us we were being recorded but would not give us the name of their company. The woman started yelling at me because we did not want their service, wouldn't put me through to a supervisor when I asked. These call are getting ridiculous with their predatory practices

Let the phone ring if you're able and turn the tide on these fraudsters. If you're answering the calls in any way, they'll gain confidence the right pitch may secure a hit or bug you enough to give in. Suddenly, a number that always has an answer only rings and rings whenever they call. That's how you add yourself to their no call list.
Woman called from (201) 215-2170. She said she was with Central NJ Electric and DEMANDED to speak with accounts payable about our Central NJ Electric, in what was a threatening tone. I explained that our electricity provider is Atlantic City Electric. She said that's the company she was calling from, they ARE Atlantic City Electric. However, their number came up as Starnet.
I asked her directly if they are one of those companies trying to get us to switch providers, but she continued to DEMAND to speak with the person in charge of the bill, taking a threatening tone as if we were in collections and going to be shut off. She asked me my name as if she was going to report me to the ‘powers-that-be’.
At that point I told her I thought they were a scam and hung up the phone. Within seconds she called back, again DEMANDING to speak with accounts payable, threatening to continue to keep calling until I put our payables person on the phone.
This is nasty, scummy, low down and extremely unethical. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! Starnet, (201) 215-2170 Only a bunch of low-down liars, cheaters and scumbags would ever work for a company like that!
Ken johnson calling from pse&g regarding a choice program credit message on the front of your electric bill. I advised him you're not calling from pse&g because caller id says bayonne, nj and our caller id always reads pse&g when they call - he just kept going on and advised me to pull my bill turn to page 3 and give him the pod id # to which i advised which bill we have 4 then he hung up
CI shows Starnet. It is an active number. If you call it, blocking your number of course, there is a recorded message which does not identify the name of the company but asks you to press 2 for the next available agent. Obviously a telemarketer not caring if you are on the DNC registry or a fake company trying to get personal info. Blocked and reported .....for all the good it will do?
