This number contacted me via SMS message. This person contacted me first by email about a week ago asking to place a Mary Kay order (I'm an independent beauty consultant). She said her name was Catherine Steele and she told me what she wanted to order and that she would mail a check in advance. Of course, after the check was mailed, she discovered that it was "inadvertantly" written for too much. The extra was supposed to go to the "makeup artist" for her photo shoot. She asked me to deposit the check and send the extra directly to the "makeup artist" via instant money transfer. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! This is a scam! The check is bad. It may even look like it's cleared (mine showed in my account for a week before the bank informed me that the check was no good). Ask for a new check or to pay by credit card or something, but do NOT wire any money.
