My dad just got this same phone call on his cell phone.Had my mom scared out of her mind, thinking that someone had frozen their acct. She called me in a panic. Glad to know it was a scam.
Just got a call that caller ID showed (twice?!) as from 201-253-0000 (actually as 20125300001) with a recording saying my MasterCard debit card had been locked and to press 1 to be transferred to their security department to unlock it. I pressed 1, got the same recorded voice telling me to enter my MasterCard number. At that point, I hung up. There are entries in the 800notes database for similar calls from 734-585-7184 and 203-322-9876 (and maybe other numbers).

Left voicemail saying Epic Card or Epi-Card deactivated my Mastercard due to security reasons & to press 1 to reactivate. I don't have a credit card with them. After researching the number it was determined this is a SCAM.
