Yes, just received a call from this number, said it was Union City, NJ on the caller ID. When I answered I got a weird beeping tone like the call had dropped.
This number is a telemarketer. Their trick is to auto-call numbers in a sequence and let it only ring once. This is suppose to perk your curiousity and get you to call back to see who it is. Once you do that, they have an option of 1 or 2. 1 being talk to a rep and 2 is supposedly taking you off he call list. I wouldn't bet on that. Anyone receiving a single ring call from this number should get a skype account if you don't have one, make sure you only have the basic account becuase you won't have your own caller id. Then you can call this number and not worry about them knowing who called them and keep pressing 1 for a rep. Paybacks !!!
like your idea. Just one thing might be a problem, what if your call is sent to a random number dialer? You could be the nuisance caller for some other person. This could be propelling this whole damn thing. If it would definitely irritate the [***] that started the calling, I'd be all for payback!
just got call from 201-279-5861, all I got was an announcement that this # was calling and then it showed missed call, didn't give me time to even answer. Will not be calling back and wasting my time as I'm sure it was a prank call or telemarketer.
